Rules of Baccarat
Baccarat Policies
Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards valued less than ten are said to be at their printed number and on the other hand 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual gamblers; they simply represent the 2 hands to be dealt).
Two hands of two cards are then played to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The total for any hand shall be the total of the 2 cards, but the very first digit is discarded. For eg, a hand of seven as well as five has a tally of two (7plus5=12; drop the ‘one’).
A 3rd card can be given out depending on the following rules:
- If the bettor or banker has a value of eight or nine, the two players stand.
- If the bettor has five or less, he hits. Players stand otherwise.
- If player stands, the banker hits of 5 or less. If the gambler hits, a chart will be used in order to judge if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The greater of the two scores will be the winner. Successful stakes on the banker pay at 19 to 20 (even odds minus a five percent commission. Commission is followed closely and cleared out when you leave the table so ensure that you have $$$$$ remaining before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to 1. Winning bets for tie normally pay out eight to 1 and occasionally nine to 1. (This is not a good wager as ties will occur less than one every ten hands. Run away from wagering on a tie. Regardless odds are radically better – nine to 1 versus eight to one)
When done accurately, baccarat offers generally good odds, aside from the tie bet of course.
Baccarat Tactics
As with most games, Baccarat has some common misconceptions. 1 of which is similar to a roulette myth. The past is in no way an actual indicator of future results. Staying abreast of historic outcomes on a chart is a complete waste of paper … an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.
The most accepted and possibly most successful strategy is the 1-3-2-six technique. This method is used to build up winnings and controlling risk.
commence by betting one unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of three on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, subtract 4 so you have two on the third gamble. If you win the 3rd bet, add two to the 4 on the table for a sum total of six on the 4th gamble.
If you lose on the 1st bet, you take a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet followed by loss on the 2nd creates a loss of two. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. A win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. In other words that you can get beaten the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
