Baccarat Policies

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards valued less than 10 are counted at their printed number and on the other hand ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual people; they simply represent the 2 hands to be dealt).

2 hands of two cards are then played to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The value for any hand is the sum total of the 2 cards, but the very first digit is removed. For e.g., a hand of 7 and 5 produces a score of 2 (7plus5=twelve; drop the ‘one’).

A third card may be dealt depending on the following guidelines:

- If the player or banker has a value of 8 or 9, both bettors stand.

- If the player has 5 or less, he/she hits. bettors stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of five or lesser. If the player hits, a chart is used to ascertain if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The bigger of the two scores wins. Winning bets on the banker pay at 19 to 20 (even money minus a 5% commission. Commission is tracked and paid out when you leave the table so ensure you have money left over before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to 1. Winner bets for tie generally pays 8 to 1 and on occasion nine to one. (This is a terrible wager as ties will occur lower than 1 every ten hands. Run away from placing bets on a tie. Regardless odds are significantlly better – nine to 1 vs. 8 to 1)

When played properly, baccarat presents relatively decent odds, aside from the tie bet obviously.

Baccarat Strategy

As with every games, Baccarat has some established myths. 1 of which is similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is never actually an indicator of future outcomes. Tracking of prior outcomes on a chart is simply a total waste of paper and an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most common and possibly most successful method is the one-three-2-six method. This method is employed to amplify successes and reducing risk.

start by betting one unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, subtract 4 so you have 2 on the third wager. If you win the 3rd gamble, add two to the 4 on the table for a sum total of 6 on the fourth bet.

If you lose on the 1st bet, you suck up a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet followed up by loss on the second will create a loss of 2. Wins on the first two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you break even. Arriving at a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. In other words that you can fail to win the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
