Baccarat Protocols

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards of a value less than 10 are of their printed value while ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual gamblers; they simply appear as the 2 hands to be played).

2 hands of 2 cards will then be played to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The value for any hand shall be the total of the two cards, but the 1st digit is discarded. For example, a hand of 7 as well as 5 will have a total score of two (7plusfive=twelve; drop the ‘1′).

A third card may be given out depending on the following practices:

- If the bettor or banker has a tally of eight or nine, each bettors stand.

- If the player has five or less, he hits. bettors stand otherwise.

- If gambler stands, the banker hits of five or lesser. If the player hits, a chart shall be used to judge if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The larger of the two scores wins. Winning stakes on the banker pay out 19 to 20 (even odds less a 5% commission. Commission is kept track of and paid out when you leave the table so make sure you have $$$$$ left before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to one. Winner bets for tie usually pays out at 8 to one and occasionally 9 to 1. (This is not a good bet as ties will occur less than one every 10 hands. be wary of placing bets on a tie. Regardless odds are generously better – nine to 1 versus eight to one)

When played properly, baccarat offers relatively decent odds, aside from the tie bet obviously.

Baccarat Strategy

As with many games, Baccarat has some common myths. 1 of which is close to a misconception of roulette. The past is in no way an indicator of future outcomes. Tracking of historic results on a chart is a waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most common and almost certainly most successful tactic is the one-three-two-six scheme. This schema is used to pump up payout and limiting risk.

Begin by gambling one unit. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, take away four so you have two on the third bet. If you win the 3rd wager, add two to the 4 on the table for a value of six on the fourth gamble.

If you lose on the initial wager, you take a loss of one. A win on the first bet followed by loss on the 2nd creates a loss of two. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you come out even. Accomplishing a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. This means you can fail to win the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
