Baccarat Chemin de Fer Regulations

Punto banco is gambled on with eight decks in a dealing shoe. Cards valued less than ten are counted at their printed value while Ten, Jack, Queen, King are zero, and Ace is 1. Wagers are made on the ‘banker’, the ‘player’, or for a tie (these aren’t really people; they just represent the two hands to be dealt).

Two hands of two cards are then given to the ‘house’ and ‘gambler’. The total for each hand is the sum of the cards, but the first number is dropped. For instance, a hand of 5 and six has a value of one (five plus six equals eleven; dump the first ‘one’).

A additional card may be given out using the rules below:

- If the gambler or bank gets a score of 8 or 9, both players stand.

- If the gambler has less than five, he takes a card. Players otherwise stay.

- If the player stays, the house takes a card on five or lower. If the gambler hits, a table is employed to figure out if the banker stays or hits.

Punto Banco Odds

The larger of the 2 scores wins. Winning bets on the banker payout 19 to 20 (equal money less a 5 percent rake. The Rake is kept track of and cleared out once you leave the table so be sure to still have cash around just before you head out). Winning wagers on the player pays out at 1 to 1. Winning wagers for a tie normally pays out at 8:1 but on occasion 9 to 1. (This is a poor wager as ties happen less than 1 in every 10 hands. Avoid wagering on a tie. However odds are substantially better for 9 to 1 vs. 8:1)

Bet on correctly baccarat chemin de fer provides generally decent odds, apart from the tie bet of course.

Baccarat Method

As with all games punto banco has a few general false impressions. One of which is the same as a false impression in roulette. The past isn’t a harbinger of events about to happen. Keeping track of previous outcomes on a chart is a bad use of paper and an affront to the tree that surrendered its life for our paper desires.

The most familiar and almost certainly the most favorable scheme is the 1-3-2-6 plan. This method is deployed to build up profits and limit risk.

Begin by wagering one chip. If you succeed, add another to the 2 on the game table for a sum of three units on the second bet. Should you succeed you will have six on the game table, pull off 4 so you have two on the 3rd bet. Should you succeed on the 3rd round, add 2 on the four on the table for a total of six on the fourth bet.

If you lose on the first bet, you take a loss of 1. A profit on the initial bet followed by a loss on the second causes a hit of 2. Wins on the first two with a defeat on the 3rd provides you with a gain of 2. And success on the first three with a hit on the fourth means you balance the books. Succeeding at all four rounds leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. This means you will be able to not win on the second wager five instances for each successful streak of four bets and still break even.
