Baccarat Rules

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards under 10 are counted at their printed number whereas 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual people; they just depict the 2 hands to be dealt).

2 hands of two cards are then played to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The score for each hand will be the total of the 2 cards, but the 1st digit is discarded. For example, a hand of seven … 5 will have a total score of 2 (7plusfive=twelve; drop the ‘one’).

A 3rd card could be dealt depending on the following protocols:

- If the gambler or banker has a total score of eight or 9, each bettors stand.

- If the gambler has 5 or lower, he/she hits. gamblers stand otherwise.

- If gambler stands, the banker hits of five or lesser. If the player hits, a chart might be used in order to determine if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The larger of the two scores wins. Winning bets on the banker pay out 19 to twenty (even odds less a 5% commission. Commission is monitored and cleared out when you leave the table so make sure that you have cash remaining before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay one to 1. Winner bets for tie customarily pay out 8 to one and sometimes 9 to one. (This is a crazy bet as ties will occur lower than 1 every ten hands. be cautious of putting money on a tie. Nevertheless odds are radically better – nine to one versus eight to one)

When played correctly, baccarat presents pretty good odds, apart from the tie bet of course.

Baccarat Tactics

As with just about all games, Baccarat has some established misunderstandings. One of which is close to a misconception of roulette. The past is in no way an actual indicator of future happenings. Keeping track of previous conclusions on a chart is a total waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most commonly used and probably most successful strategy is the 1-three-2-six technique. This process is employed to build up earnings and cutting back risk.

commence by wagering 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, clear away 4 so you have two on the third gamble. If you win the 3rd gamble, add two to the 4 on the table for a value of 6 on the 4th wager.

If you lose on the 1st wager, you take a loss of 1. A win on the 1st bet followed up by loss on the 2nd creates a loss of 2. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th mean you come out even. Winning at all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. This means that you can fail to win the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
