Punto Banco Practices and Plan
Baccarat Chemin de Fer Policies
Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards valued less than 10 are worth their printed value and with Ten, Jack, Queen, King are zero, and A is 1. Bets are placed on the ‘bank’, the ‘player’, or on a tie (these aren’t really people; they just represent the two hands to be dealt).
Two hands of 2 cards are then dealt to the ‘banker’ and ‘gambler’. The score for each hand is the total of the cards, however the first digit is discarded. For instance, a hand of 5 and six has a value of 1 (5 plus six = 11; ignore the initial ‘one’).
A third card could be given out based on the rules below:
- If the gambler or bank achieves a value of 8 or 9, the two players stay.
- If the player has less than five, he hits. Players otherwise stand.
- If the gambler stands, the house takes a card on five or less. If the player takes a card, a guide is used to determine if the bank stays or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The bigger of the two hands wins. Winning bets on the house pay out 19:20 (even payout less a 5% commission. Commission are recorded and paid off when you depart the table so make sure you have money left just before you depart). Winning wagers on the gambler pay one to one. Winning bets for a tie usually pays out at 8 to 1 but on occasion 9:1. (This is a awful wager as a tie occurs less than one in every 10 hands. Be cautious of gambling on a tie. However odds are substantially better for 9:1 versus eight to one)
Wagered on properly baccarat offers fairly good odds, aside from the tie bet of course.
Punto Banco Method
As with all games punto banco has a handful of established myths. One of which is similar to a misunderstanding in roulette. The past is not a harbinger of events about to happen. Keeping track of previous outcomes at a table is a waste of paper and an insult to the tree that was cut down for our stationary needs.
The most familiar and probably the most favorable method is the one-three-two-six technique. This technique is deployed to build up winnings and limit risk.
Start by wagering 1 chip. If you succeed, add another to the two on the game table for a sum of 3 chips on the second bet. Should you win you will hold six on the table, take away four so you have two on the 3rd round. If you come away with a win on the 3rd bet, add two on the four on the table for a grand total of six on the fourth wager.
Should you don’t win on the 1st bet, you take a hit of one. A win on the first round followed by a loss on the second brings about a hit of 2. Wins on the initial two with a loss on the 3rd gives you with a profit of two. And success on the 1st 3 with a loss on the 4th means you experience no loss. Winning at all 4 rounds leaves you with twelve, a gain of 10. This means you can lose the second round 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and in the end, balance the books.
