Baccarat Standards

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards which are of a value less than ten are worth face value and on the other hand ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual players; they strictly act as the two hands to be dealt).

2 hands of 2 cards shall then be played to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The score for every hand is the grand total of the 2 cards, but the initial digit is discarded. For e.g., a hand of 7 … five gives a total of 2 (sevenplusfive=12; drop the ‘one’).

A third card might be given out depending on the following regulations:

- If the gambler or banker has a tally of 8 or nine, each players stand.

- If the gambler has 5 or less, he hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If gambler stands, the banker hits of five or lesser. If the gambler hits, a chart will be used in order to determine if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The greater of the 2 scores is the winner. Successful bets on the banker pay out 19 to 20 (even odds less a five percent commission. Commission is monitored and cleared out when you leave the table so make sure you have money left over before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to one. Winning bets for tie by and large pay 8 to 1 and sometimes 9 to one. (This is a crazy wager as ties will happen lower than 1 every 10 hands. Run away from placing bets on a tie. Still, odds are greatly better – nine to 1 vs. 8 to 1)

Played smartly, baccarat provides fairly good odds, apart from the tie wager ofcourse.

Baccarat Strategy

As with most games, Baccarat has some established myths. One of which is close to a roulette misconception. The past is in no way an actual indicator of future happenings. Monitoring of last conclusions on a chart is a complete waste of paper and a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most common and possibly most successful technique is the 1-three-2-6 concept. This plan is used to magnify winnings and reducing risk.

start by gambling one unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, take away four so you have two on the 3rd bet. If you win the third bet, add two to the 4 on the table for a value of six on the fourth bet.

If you don’t win on the 1st bet, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the first bet followed up by loss on the 2nd will create a loss of two. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you break even. Attaining a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. Thus you can lose the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
