Punto Banco Regulations and Strategy
Baccarat Rules
Baccarat chemin de fer is played with eight decks in a dealer’s shoe. Cards below 10 are worth their printed number and with 10, J, Q, K are zero, and Ace is 1. Bets are placed on the ‘bank’, the ‘player’, or for a tie (these are not really people; they simply represent the 2 hands to be dealt).
Two cards are dealt to both the ‘house’ and ‘gambler’. The value for each hand is the sum total of the 2 cards, although the beginning number is dropped. For example, a hand of five and 6 has a total of one (five plus 6 equals 11; ditch the 1st ‘1′).
A 3rd card could be dealt using the following rules:
- If the gambler or banker has a total of eight or nine, both players stay.
- If the gambler has 5 or lower, she hits. Players otherwise stand.
- If the gambler stays, the banker hits on 5 or less. If the player hits, a guide is used to see if the house stays or hits.
Baccarat Banque Odds
The better of the two hands wins. Winning wagers on the bank pay out 19:20 (even money minus a 5 percent rake. The Rake is tracked and cleared out when you leave the game so make sure you have funds left over before you leave). Winning bets on the gambler pays out at 1:1. Winning wagers for tie normally pays out at 8 to 1 but on occasion 9 to 1. (This is a awful bet as a tie occurs less than 1 in every 10 rounds. Be wary of putting money on a tie. However odds are astonishingly better for 9:1 versus eight to one)
Gambled on properly baccarat chemin de fer offers fairly good odds, apart from the tie bet of course.
Baccarat Scheme
As with all games punto banco has a few common myths. One of which is similar to a myth in roulette. The past isn’t a prophecy of events about to happen. Recording previous outcomes at a table is a poor use of paper and an insult to the tree that gave its life for our paper needs.
The most familiar and definitely the most acknowledged course of action is the one, three, two, six technique. This tactic is deployed to maximize profits and limit losses.
Start by wagering 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the game table for a sum of three chips on the second bet. Should you succeed you will now have six on the game table, remove 4 so you keep 2 on the third round. If you succeed on the 3rd bet, deposit two on the four on the game table for a sum total of six on the 4th round.
If you don’t win on the first wager, you take a hit of one. A profit on the 1st wager followed by a loss on the second causes a hit of two. Success on the initial 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you with a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a hit on the fourth means you experience no loss. Winning at all four bets gives you with twelve, a take of ten. This means you will be able to lose the 2nd wager 5 times for each successful run of 4 wagers and still are even.
