Baccarat Rules
Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards under 10 are valued at their printed value whereas 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual gamblers; they only depict the 2 hands to be given out).
Two hands of 2 cards shall then be given out to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The score for each hand is the grand total of the two cards, but the initial digit is removed. For eg, a hand of 7 … five will have a value of 2 (sevenplus5=twelve; drop the ‘1′).
A 3rd card could be played depending on the following protocols:
- If the bettor or banker has a value of 8 or 9, then both bettors stand.
- If the bettor has five or less, he hits. gamblers stand otherwise.
- If gambler stands, the banker hits of 5 or lesser. If the bettor hits, a chart is used to decide if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The larger of the 2 scores wins. Winning stakes on the banker payout 19 to 20 (even money minus a 5% commission. Commission is followed closely and paid out when you leave the table so make sure that you have dollars remaining before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay one to 1. Winning bets for tie normally pays 8 to one and on occasion nine to 1. (This is a crazy wager as ties will occur lower than 1 every 10 hands. Definitely don’t try wagering on a tie. Even so odds are certainly better – 9 to one vs. eight to one)
When done properly, baccarat provides relatively good odds, apart from the tie bet obviously.
Baccarat Strategy
As with all games, Baccarat has some well-known misconceptions. One of which is very similar to a roulette misconception. The past is never actually an indicator of future events. Staying abreast of past conclusions on a chart is a total waste of paper and a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.
The most accepted and possibly most successful strategy is the 1-three-2-six method. This scheme is employed to boost successes and controlling risk.
start by gambling one unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, subtract four so you have two on the third gamble. If you win the third wager, add 2 to the four on the table for a sum of six on the 4th gamble.
If you lose on the 1st wager, you suck up a loss of one. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the 2nd brings about a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you break even. Attaining a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. Thus that you can lose the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
